Jim Allington

My name is James (Jim) Allington and I am a licensed psychologist and I have a Health Services Psychologist certification from the National Register of Health Services Psychologists.  My preferred pronouns are he / his and I have completed Safe Zone Training (Specialty training with people who identify as LGBTQIA?).  I’ve been fortunate to work in many settings, ranging from Community Mental health, state as well as governmental institutions, and universities.  

I have training in long-term and short-term therapy, as well as Group treatment.  I have worked with people in all stages of life from childhood to advanced age.  I am familiar with Behaviorism, many forms of Cognitive therapies, Solution-Focused approaches, and several empirically validated treatments.  I also have formal training and experience with administering a variety of assessments and with giving supervision.

I have training in a variety of therapeutic approaches and will bring to our work the sum of years of experience.  The most effective way to engage in therapy is to work together collaboratively.  I look forward to being a part of your journey.
